The end of the analog age is nearing. The traditional analog telephone connection will be replaced by a digital connection by the end of 2017. For you, this means that your old analog telephone has served its time. Soon, all phone connections will take place over the new digital network protocol VoIP.
Be ready with a new digital VoIP phone connection and benefit from the unique advantages of this new form of communication. Save the Swisscom connection fees of more than CHF 25.– per month for your analog or CHF 43.– per month for your ISDN landline connection.
We are happy to provide you with answers to FAQs about your digital telephone connection.

Swisscom has decided to completely discontinue the analog phone connection that is still used in many households at the end of 2017. As part of the All IP project, the analog connection will be replaced by a digital connection. This means that in the future all phone calls and television will only be possible over the Internet.
The Internet protocol (IP) is the most successful data transmission technology the world over.
All IP means that all (All) data such as TV and telephone will be transmitted via the Internet protocol (IP).
A basic digital connection is when the telephone signal, i.e. the dial tone and the conversation, is transmitted over the Internet instead of coming from the phone outlet.
Basically, you can continue to use your old telephone. The Fritz!Box from green.ch has connections for your old telephone. Telephones from green.ch can be placed anywhere in your home irrespective of where your modem is located. This eliminates the tedious wiring of the telephones – you only need a power outlet.
As soon as you have registered to migrate your connection, green.ch will send you a porting form. Return the form filled out and signed by the subscriber of the phone number. Before the migration takes place, green.ch will send you the access data for your new phone connection. You can then use the delivered instructions to set up the phone connection on your Fritz!Box. Once your connection has been migrated, you simply unplug your phone from the phone outlet and connect it to your Fritz!Box. Please note that during migration, the Internet will not be available for a short time. Afterwards, you can make phone calls as usual.
Usually, neither an electrician nor a phone technician is required for the migration. If you are unsure, before migration first contact our customer service. The customer is responsible for contracting an electrician and paying for any work carried out.
No. green.ch will port your phone number. Make sure that you check off next to point 4 in the porting form – 'Requested porting date' . You can, of course, have your phone number ported immediately, but we would like to point out that immediate porting may lead to penalties that your previous provider will invoice.
An analog connection is the telephony connection that was used up until now. There are two different analog connections – a 'normal' analog connection for CHF 25.35/month and an ISDN connection for CHF 43.–/month.
If the answering machine is integrated into the phone, you can continue to use it. Alternatively, you can use the answering machine function of your Fritz!Box.
Instructions of how to set it up are available at the following link: Link to AVM.
Of course you can continue to forward your calls in the future. In your customer portal, you can define when and to what number calls to one of your phone numbers should be forwarded. Please note that call forwarding to a mobile phone will incur charges from your mobile provider and that these costs can be higher than a landline connection.
green.ch telephony is not designed for fax machines. But Fax2Mail allows you to easily forward faxes to your e-mail address. You save paper and the space needed for the fax machine. If you are a green.ch e-mail customer, you can also conveniently send faxes from your e-mail account. For more information, go to Link to AVM.
During a power failure, you won’t be able to make phone calls because the modem won’t have power. In this case, you will have to use an alternative. green.ch recommends a mobile phone as a backup.
Yes, Fritz!Box has an integrated DECT base station. You can operate up to 6 DECT phones with your Fritz!Box.
