By the end of 2017, Swisscom will shut down all conventional connections (analog and ISDN). Afterward, all landline telephony in Switzerland will take place via Internet protocol (Voice over IP, VoIP). Like in photography or TV, digitization of telephony makes many new functions possible. Since in the future modern telephony will be possible over every Internet connection, separate phone lines will no longer be necessary. And there will be no fees for the phone connection. Hundreds of thousands of phone connections have already been migrated and are now benefiting from the new technology.
Telephony customers can migrate their in-house telephony to VoIP or connect their internal systems to the Internet via a VoIP gateway. VoIP gateways convert VoIP telephony into analog or ISDN signals that are understood by existing, conventional systems. It is therefore possible to keep using an existing telephone system beyond 2017. We also recommend VoIP gateways for faxes, card terminals, franking machines, and similar devices that are not suitable for direct connection to the Internet. Even if your device needs a charge pulse for future invoicing, we have the right solution.
Let us know how many phone calls your VoIP connection should allow in parallel so that we can provide the required number of channels. On request, we can provide free convenience functions such as VoiceMail for connections with up to ten channels.
To ensure the availability and quality of our telephone services, you need a green.ch Internet connection with a Business SLA.
