Green increases bandwidth for free to combat the coronavirus crisis

The Swiss internet provider is increasing the bandwidth of its internet connections for private households to 100 Mbit/s until further notice. With Office 365 and Teams, it is also launching solutions to simplify working from home.

Lupfig, March 26, 2020 – The internet service provider Green is responding to the spread of coronavirus and the Swiss population’s changing internet usage. From next week, private households will receive an upgrade to their subscription, to 100 Mbit/s. This will occur wherever customers have previously chosen a lower bandwidth but possess the capacity for higher performance. With this gesture, the internet provider aims to support working from home, home schooling and digital leisure activities.

Green is also launching a comprehensive range of services based on Office 365 and Teams. These services are available in a variety of packages to provide private individuals, small businesses and SMEs with efficient solutions for making calls and collaborating online. All solutions contain the usual range of Office services, as well as video conference solutions, chat functions and online storage, depending on the package. As a certified Microsoft Tier 1 Partner, green.ch is also offering an integrated telephone solution based on existing numbers with Teams. The totally virtual telephone system seamlessly replaces existing installations and previous hardware.

At the same time, Green has put in place numerous internal measures to ensure the stable operation of its internet infrastructure and data centers during the current situation. Its network capacity is being checked and adapted on an ongoing basis. Support remains available.
