Green Germany – our success story continues

Green Germany marks the next step in a journey that began over 30 years ago in Switzerland. Since then, Green has evolved from an internet pioneer into a leading provider of secure, sustainable, and connected data centers – with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and customer proximity.

Our growth strategy follows a clear principle: to be where our customers need us – in Switzerland, in Germany, and soon at other strategic locations across Europe. We develop need-driven infrastructures that continue to set standards for the future.

As digitalization accelerates, demand for energy-efficient and future-proof data centers is growing—both nationally and internationally. Green is responding with a targeted expansion into Germany and other strategic markets, backed by the same commitment to performance that made us a trusted leader in Switzerland.

Our launch in Germany

With the founding of Green Datacenter Germany GmbH in Frankfurt am Main, we are continuing our success story by entering the German market with a clear goal: to develop modern and sustainable data centers at strategically important locations such as Frankfurt.

Our approach goes beyond simply providing infrastructure. As in Switzerland, we focus on long-term partnerships, sustainable site development, and the responsible use of resources – all with the aim of creating real value for customers, partners, and the region.

Since August 1, 2025, Heiko Siats has been serving as Managing Director of Green Germany. With his experience, he is driving key projects forward, identifying suitable locations, maintaining close ties with customers, partners, and authorities, and building strong, long-term relationships. His commitment and conviction bring Green’s values and quality standards to the German market, laying a solid foundation for our continued growth.

Sustainable data centers for Germany

Green Datacenter Germany GmbH will develop and operate state-of-the-art, high-availability data centers at key locations across Germany in the coming years – with the same commitment that has made us successful in Switzerland. Our focus is on energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy, and the consistent reuse of waste heat through local heating networks.

We are establishing future-proof infrastructure designed to meet the demands of hyperscalers while also supporting hybrid IT models for large enterprise customers. Our approach is rooted in thoughtful site development, combining technological innovation with long-term value for both our customers and the region. To us, partnership means working at eye level, bringing together strengths to enable progress together.

  • Where is Green Datacenter Germany located?

Green Datacenter Germany GmbH is based in Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, one of Europe’s key data and internet hubs. From our headquarters in Frankfurt, we coordinate expansion to strategic data center locations across Germany to provide optimal connectivity and service nationwide. Frankfurt offers direct access to one of Europe’s most powerful fiber optic networks, proximity to international business centers, and a strong ecosystem for digital infrastructure providers.

  • What makes Green different from other data center operators in Germany?

Green stands out by combining Swiss quality standards with a strong focus on sustainability, customer proximity, and regional commitment. We build customized, energy-efficient infrastructure, integrate heat reuse, and prioritize long-term site development. Unlike many international providers, Green invests locally in Germany, creates regional jobs, and includes customers and partners directly in the planning process. Our roots go back over 30 years in Switzerland and we bring the same values and expertise to Germany’s digital economy.

  • What sustainability measures does Green implement at its data centers in Germany?

Our data centers in Germany follow a proven sustainability strategy established in Switzerland. Key measures include:

    • Use of renewable energy
    • Energy-efficient cooling systems
    • Heat recovery integrated into local heating networks

We carefully select low-impact locations to conserve resources, enable short transport routes, and keep our carbon footprint in Germany as low as possible. Our mission: to deliver climate-conscious, future-ready data center infrastructure that benefits customers, communities, and the environment.
