Default Green DNS Records (Hosted Exchange)
Are your emails being routed via Green Exchange server? To ensure that your emails reach the recipient, you need to make sure that you are using the correct DNS records. In this article you will learn which records are best to use.
Note: Please check whether you are using Webhosting, Mail Hosting or Hosted Exchange for your mail service.
Hosted Exchange
Note: The following entries in the DNS zone are relevant for Hosted Exchange customers.
If you use Hosted Exchange as your mail service and web hosting for your website at the same time, then also enter the IP address of the web hosting as an A record. Should you host your website with Green, you will find your IP address in your Web & Mail Control Panel. This article explains how to find your IP address.
Remove the mail-in A-record, as this is only required if you use the mail service of the web or mail hosting.
CNAME Record
Name | TTL | Type | Value |
owa | 600 | CNAME | ch.exg7.exghost.com. |
autodiscover | 600 | CNAME | adr.exghost.com. |
MX Record
Name | TTL | Type | Priority | Value |
3600 | MX | 10 | exampledomain-ch.mx1.arsmtp.com. | |
3600 | MX | 20 | exampledomain-ch.mx2.arsmtp.com. |
Note: Replace exampledomain-ch with the name of your own domain.
Make sure that the separation between the top-level domain (in our example .ch) and the domain is made with a hyphen ( - ) and not with a dot ( . ) as usual.
The correct example would be exampledomain-ch.mx2.arsmtp.com and the incorrect example would be exampledomain.ch.mx2.arsmtp.com.
TXT Record
Name | TTL | Type | Value |
600 | TXT | v=spf1 include:edgepilot.com ~all |
Note: You have the option inside of your Hosted Exchange Customer Portal to setup DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail) for your domain. Should you require assistance, please do not hesitate to get in contact with our Customer Service.
