Fiber Optic Socket (OTO Socket)
What is an OTO Socket?
The OTO socket is the fiber optic connection point in your apartment or house. Your fiber internet service is delivered through this socket.
Depending on the installation type, the fiber optic socket may have up to four plugs. These are usually labeled 1 to 4. During the activation process, we will inform you which plug is assigned to your connection.
OTO ID of the Fiber Optic Socket
Every fiber optic socket is marked with a unique identification number, known as the OTO ID. This ID is required to uniquely identify and activate your fiber connection.
You can usually find the OTO ID on the label attached to the fiber optic socket
Structure of the OTO ID
The OTO ID usually starts with the letter A or B, followed by a series of numbers.
Examples:
- A.123.456.789
- B.123.456.789.X
Where is the Fiber Optic Socket Located?
If your apartment or house is connected to the fiber network, a fiber optic socket has most likely already been installed.

- Multimedia cabinet
Location Guide by Building Type
Older Buildings
In older buildings, the fiber optic socket is often located in the living room, entrance area, or hallway. It is typically installed near existing telephone, cable TV, or other telecommunications outlets.
Newer Buildings with a Multimedia Cabinet
In newer buildings, the fiber optic socket is often located inside a multimedia cabinet. This cabinet is typically located in the hallway, utility room, or storage room.
No OTO ID Visible on the Fiber Optic Socket?
If no OTO ID is visible on your fiber optic socket, please contact your property management company or the property owner. They may be able to provide you with the OTO ID associated with your fiber connection.
