Our next data center is underway

The data center market is on the move and so is Green. Having already built two data centers and an office building on our campus in Lupfig, we are continuing to invest. Thanks to the good order situation, we will be building a new, ultra-modern data center with 3,600 m2 of pure data center floor space starting in September 2018.

Higher building and stronger performance – yet efficient

One floor higher than the previous data centers and even stronger performance – that’s how we planned our new data center. Aimed at the needs of our national and international customers, it will offer more than twice the power density of our previous installations, making it one of Switzerland’s most efficient high-performance, high-density data centers.

We also focus on energy efficiency. In recent years, energy efficiency has become an obligation for every data center operator. Energy should be used primarily for the operation of the customer systems and not for the operation of the data center. While the average 2009 data center consumed the same amount of energy for its own systems as it did for customer equipment, the figure for modern new buildings is 15 to 19 percent. Our experience in building and operating data centers is in demand, because more efficiency is needed to accommodate and process the increasing amounts of data.

With an investment volume of CHF 70 million, we want to build an infrastructure that meets our customers’ requirements – today and tomorrow.
