Retarus in a data center operated by Green for secure data processing

As a global provider of information logistics, Retarus ensures the secure and efficient flow of information across a wide range of channels. Its customers, including numerous large enterprises in the industrial and financial sectors, have high requirements for data protection, security, and service availability.

Secure processing of sensitive customer data in Switzerland

Retarus processes highly sensitive information. The company must therefore ensure that its customers' data is stored and processed exclusively in Switzerland. This applies both to Swiss companies and to Swiss branches of international corporations, including banks.

Until now, Retarus operated a smaller data center with its own hardware at a telecommunications provider's data center. For strategic reasons, however, the company decided to move to a carrier-neutral data center.

Retarus chooses a data center operated by Green

In addition to carrier neutrality, a range of technical and commercial criteria influenced the decision. The data center needed to meet Tier III or Tier IV requirements and hold the key certifications required for operating sensitive infrastructure. It also needed to offer redundancy, high availability, energy efficiency, and low latency. From a shortlist of three providers, Retarus selected the Green data center at the ZRH1 campus in Lupfig, one of the most advanced data centers in Switzerland.

The ZRH1 campus in Lupfig is one of Switzerland's leading data center locations. With three modern data centers, more than 10,000 m² of data center space, and direct connections to national and international IT ecosystems, it serves as a powerful data hub. Green's data centers are operated in accordance with recognized international standards, including ISO 27001 for information security and ISO 50001 for energy management. Of particular note is the Uptime Institute's M&O Stamp of Approval. The ZRH1 campus is the only data center in Switzerland to hold this distinction. It confirms the high quality of its management, operations, and processes and underscores Green's commitment to the highest levels of security, availability, and operational excellence.

«Green operates a state-of-the-art data center in Lupfig», says Anita Szilagyi, project manager at Retarus, explaining the decision. «The Green data center at the ZRH1 campus in Lupfig came out on top in the evaluation, both technically and commercially.» Another factor in Green's favor was its extensive track record with customers in the financial sector.

Connectivity and support beyond the data center

In addition to a data center cage with three racks, Retarus also uses Green's Local Access service. Green's fiber ring provides an IP transit connection between Lupfig and Retarus's international data center partner in Zurich. Retarus operates and supports its own equipment. For smaller or urgent tasks, the company uses Green's remote and smart hands service as needed.
