Hosted Exchange: Automatically Set Up Lite+ & Full in Outlook

This guide describes how to automatically set up a Hosted Exchange mailbox with a Lite+ or Full licence in Outlook. The automatic configuration uses Autodiscover to determine the required mailbox settings.

This guide was created using Outlook 2013. The process does not differ significantly in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2016.

 

Requirements

For automatic setup, you need:

  • a Hosted Exchange mailbox with a Lite+ or Full licence
  • your email address
  • the password for the Hosted Exchange mailbox
  • Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016

Create a New Outlook Profile

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Open Mail.
  3. Double-click Email (32-bit).
  4. Select Show Profiles.
  5. Select Add to create a new profile.
  6. Enable Prompt for a profile to be used.
  7. Enter a name for the new profile.
  8. Confirm with OK.

 

Automatically Set Up the Hosted Exchange Account

  1. Enter your name.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Enter the password for the Hosted Exchange mailbox twice.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Wait until Outlook has determined the automatic configuration.
  6. Enable Don’t ask me about this website again.
  7. Select Allow so that Outlook can set up the account automatically.
  8. Select Finish to complete the configuration.
  9. Select OK to exit the wizard.
