Telephony at Green
Green offers fixed-line telephony as an optional add-on service to an Internet subscription. The telephony service is provided under the name “Talk” and includes a phone number as well as the associated telephony functions.
Telephony is not automatically included in an Internet subscription. It is provided as a separate service and billed separately.
Costs and subscriptions
Talk
The currently available basic telephony subscription “Talk” costs CHF 4.90 per month and includes one phone number. No activation fee is charged.
Green Talk is available with all current Home subscriptions and with Business Connect S.
Flat rates
In addition, the following flat rates can be booked:
- Flat Rate S: CHF 9.90 per month, including 3,000 minutes to the Swiss fixed-line network
- Flat Rate M: CHF 13.90 per month, including 3,000 minutes to the Swiss fixed-line network and 500 minutes to Swiss mobile networks
- Flat Rate L: CHF 29.90 per month, including 3,000 minutes to supported fixed-line and mobile networks in Switzerland and the listed international countries
The flat rate does not replace the basic fee for the telephone connection. The basic fee applies to the active phone number or telephone connection. The flat rate only covers the included call minutes.
Difference between CHF 2.90 and CHF 4.90
The amounts CHF 2.90 and CHF 4.90 refer to different situations and should not be confused.
- CHF 2.90: Monthly basic fee for certain existing telephone connections that were previously provided without a monthly basic charge. This fee has been charged since 1 January 2026.
- CHF 4.90: Current price of the “Talk” basic telephony subscription available for new orders in combination with an Internet subscription.
The CHF 2.90 fee for affected existing connections is not the same as the current offer price of CHF 4.90.
Call charges without a flat rate
Without a suitable flat rate, calls are billed according to the current tariff list.
- Swiss fixed-line network: CHF 0.07 per minute
- Green telephone network: free of charge
- Swiss mobile networks: CHF 0.29 per minute
- International calls: depending on the country and destination network
- Short codes and premium-rate numbers: according to the applicable tariff
Billing is calculated per second. There is no distinction between peak and off-peak rates.

Basic fee, flat rate and call charges
These terms describe different components of telephony:
- The basic fee is charged for the active phone number or telephone connection.
- A flat rate only covers the included call minutes.
- Call charges apply to calls that are not covered by a flat rate.
Even if a flat rate is active, the basic fee for the phone number remains payable.
Invoice items
Telephony products are shown as separate items on the invoice.
In documented cases, the item was referred to, for example, as “Item 2.2 Talk”.
Depending on the product, additional items may also appear, for example for:
- Flat rates
- Call charges
- Credits
A newly visible Talk item on the invoice does not automatically mean that a new product has been ordered. In many cases, it refers to an existing and still active phone number.
Why does a telephony charge suddenly appear?
Many customers no longer remember that telephony was previously ordered together with their Internet subscription.
This occurs particularly when:
- no telephone is connected
- the phone number has never been used
- the connection was previously free of charge
- telephony has not been considered for a long period of time
Not using a phone number or not having a telephone connected does not cancel the telephony subscription. The subscription remains active until it is cancelled.
Cancelling telephony
Green Talk is an optional additional service and can be cancelled independently of the Internet subscription.
If only Green Talk is cancelled, the Internet subscription remains active.
Cancellation removes the telephone number and the associated telephony functions.
Before cancelling, check whether you still require the following functions:
- Fixed-line number
- Call forwarding
- Voicemail
- Fax service
- IPCall
Cancellations by telephone are not accepted. The cancellation can be submitted using the designated cancellation channels.

Note: Cancelling Green Talk does not automatically cancel your Internet subscription.
Porting the telephone number
If you wish to transfer your existing fixed-line number to another provider, you should initiate the porting process before the cancellation is finalised.
Note: Porting at a later date, a long time after the end of the contract, cannot be guaranteed.
Managing telephony
The telephony settings can be managed using the designated management functions.
